Captured, bounded, declined
The three grades of support behind a Forensia statement, how each view marks them, and how to read a result with them.
Forensia does not score addresses. It grades how well each statement is supported, and it marks the grade with a shape and a written label, so that the grade does not rest on colour alone.
- Captured (filled mark): a source returned it, and the response was hashed. The raw response body is kept only where retention allows, so a hash is not always a stored copy. You can check it against the source record.
- Bounded (hollow mark): true as far as it goes. A window of activity rather than a full history, a reference without a stored response, or reported activity that no matching receipt in the capture confirms.
- Declined (struck mark): the source refused, the call reverted, nothing came back, or source records disagree. It is shown rather than hidden.
Each view words the grades in its own terms. A record in Activity carries the filled, hollow or struck mark for its execution status. Analysis marks each finding as "Read from the chain", "Said by a named source", "A limit on what is known" or "A list match". Sources marks each record as "Answered", "Answered with an error", "Reference only" or "No answer". In those two views the mark for a list match or an error response is a red disc that differs from the plain filled mark mainly by colour, so read the label beside it.
Read a result by its weakest mark. A conclusion that rests on a bounded statement is itself bounded, however confident the wording around it.
