Cross-chain / Illustrated lesson

Matching a bridge journey
Two similar transfers do not make a proven route.

Cross-chain protocols coordinate separate ledgers. A strong match uses the protocol’s identifiers and the relevant source and destination evidence, with the exact chain pair retained.

  1. 01

    Source action is recorded

  2. 02

    Protocol links the journey

  3. 03

    Destination action is recorded

Illustrative sequence. This diagram is a teaching aid, not a captured transaction.

What to collect

  1. Source chain and transaction
  2. Protocol deposit or message identifier
  3. Destination receipt and matching fields
Before drawing a conclusion

Timing and similar amounts can suggest a route but do not establish it. Mixers and custodial services can end the observable path.

Test the idea

Two chains show 100 USDC moving within a minute. Is that enough to match them?

Reveal the explanation

No. Many unrelated transfers share an amount. Look for protocol-specific linkage and preserve uncertainty.
