Execution / Illustrated lesson

Flash loans
A very large loan can exist for one transaction.

A flash loan supplies temporary liquidity inside a transaction. The borrower executes other actions before satisfying the lender’s repayment or permitted debt rules.

  1. 01

    Borrow temporary liquidity

  2. 02

    Run the callback actions

  3. 03

Repay or satisfy the lender’s rules

Illustrative sequence. This diagram is a teaching aid, not a captured transaction.

What to collect

  1. Lender and receiver call frames
  2. Assets received and returned
  3. Final balance changes and fees
Before drawing a conclusion

A flash loan can support legitimate arbitrage or liquidation. Borrowed volume is not the same as stolen value.

Test the idea

A transaction borrows 10 million and returns it with a fee. Is 10 million the loss?

Reveal the explanation

No. Calculate surviving changes for the affected parties and separate temporary principal from final outcomes.
