Pricing / Illustrated lesson

Oracle manipulation
A price becomes dangerous when another rule trusts it.

An oracle provides information used by a contract. Investigating suspected manipulation means identifying the exact value consumed and how the application used it, rather than comparing an unrelated price chart.

Reading history stays in this browser. Manage it in My Explore.
  1. 01

A market or feed supplies a value

  2. 02

    The application reads it

  3. 03

Borrowing or exchange rules use it

Illustrative sequence. This diagram is a teaching aid, not a captured transaction.

What to collect

  1. Actual oracle and consumer contracts
  2. Read value, units and freshness
  3. State or execution showing the consequence
Before drawing a conclusion

An unusual price is a clue. It does not prove manipulation, attacker control or the exact value read at an internal step.

Test the idea

A screenshot shows a high token price. Does it prove which price a lending call used?

Reveal the explanation

No. You need the application’s oracle path and historical execution or state supporting that read.
