Wrapped EtherEther, expressed through a token contract.

Wrapped Ether lets ETH participate in applications expecting ERC-20 tokens. In the familiar WETH9 design, depositing ETH increases the depositor’s token balance; withdrawing reverses that operation.

The investigation question

Was this a wrap, an unwrap or another transfer?

Compare calls, native value and token events at the actual wrapper contract. Forensia explains supported direct Ethereum WETH operations; other wrappers require their own evidence.

What this guide does not establish

A token named WETH may use different code. Wrapping changes representation; it does not by itself establish trading profit.
