Private amounts change what a public transfer can prove.

What changed

OpenZeppelin released confidential-token contracts for Stellar. A wrapper can hold an existing token while hiding balances and transfer amounts. The announcement distinguishes audited contracts and circuits from separate, unaudited client tooling.

Why it matters

A visible transaction does not guarantee that its amount is public. Authorized disclosure and administrative controls are separate questions, so an investigation should state which records are actually observable.

Take it into Forensia

Write down the evidence limit.

Use the evidence guide to separate a public record from an inference. For a supported-chain investigation, retain source references and observation times rather than filling missing values with estimates.

Forensia does not support native Stellar investigation or reveal confidential balances. This brief summarizes the release and does not assess any deployment’s security.
