Chainlink provides oracle infrastructure, including data feeds used by smart contracts. An investigation asks which data source an application consumed and how it interpreted that value.

The investigation question

Which price and timestamp did the application use?

Identify the feed contract, its decimals and update data. Then examine the consuming contract’s logic. A quoted market price elsewhere is not proof of the value read during execution.

What this guide does not establish

A protocol mentioning Chainlink does not establish that every price path uses it. Historical reads depend on available state and trace evidence.
